Camp Cro: Part 1
Recently, I had the opportunity to travel west and spend a week with Antonio Cromarite at his training facility in Thousand Oaks, California. This year he invited his teammates to join him and several took him up on the offer. I definitely had no idea what to expect. Cromartie was extremely gracious and let me and videographer, Andrew Johnston have full access to their daily routine.
I have to admit, I was astonished by Cromartie and the leadership role he has undertaken. For five weeks, Monday through Friday, Cro started the morning at Jenky’s diner, 7:30 sharp . The week I was there, Kyle Wilson, Josh Bush, and Royce Adams were also there from the Jets. Mondays and Wednesdays it was off to the football field for an hour of training, then they would head to the gym for another hour of training. Tuesday it was Yoga and boxing, Thursday was yoga and positional drills and on Friday a roadtrip. (I was lucky enough for a roadtrip to the sand dunes)
These workouts were extreme. Trainer Ryan Capretta, who has worked with Cro for the past 6 years, pushes them to the max. And Cro and the Jets aren’t the only athletes training with Capretta, Clay Matthews, Dwight Freeney, Taylor Mays were just a couple of the guys there the week I was.
I could go on and on, so just watch the video:
